How to reach me

When you write, I’m the one who answers.

Acelli Crippen-Kok standing in the open doorway of her office, smiling, in tortoiseshell glasses and a rust-orange top with lace sleeves, her braids down past her shoulders, a bright room with window blinds behind her.

I read what you send and I answer it myself, within 48 hours, and usually within 24. The rest of this page is the four ways to reach me, what happens after each one, what to do if tonight is bad, and when I’m here.

Request a time

The button at the top of every page opens my scheduling page in a new tab. It walks you through a few short steps: the kind of session, in person or online, and a time from my calendar. Pick one that works for you. It comes to me as a request, not a booking, and nothing is set until I confirm it with you, within 48 hours and usually within 24. Would you rather say something first, or start with the free call? The next three are for that.

Send the short form

Not a phone person, and not ready to write an email? The short form is right here: your name, a way to reach you, and how you found me. A company called Paubox runs it for me and encrypts what you send, and it lands in my inbox like a message would. Leave the health details for when we talk. If what you want is the free call, say so and I’ll set it up with you.

If the form doesn’t show here, open it on its own page.

Call or text me

You can call or text me at 512-793-7737. The first call is free and takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and it’s where you can ask anything, including anything you’re not sure you’re allowed to ask. If it goes to voicemail, leave a message and I’ll call you back within the same two days. A text gets an answer the same way.

Write to me

A call feels like too much some nights. Write instead: [email protected]. Say as much or as little as you want. A few lines is plenty. It doesn’t have to be well written, and it doesn’t have to make a case for anything. You’re not bothering me, and this is what the address is for. I read it myself, and then, if you want to, we find a time for the free call. There’s no clock on this.

If tonight is bad

Call or text 988. That’s the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: a trained counselor answers, it’s free, it’s open all day and all night, and if you text, any message starts it. If you’re in danger right now, or it’s a medical emergency, call 911 instead. I’m not an emergency line, and I’d rather you had those two numbers than waited on me. In the morning, write to me if you want to.

Hours and where

My hours are Monday to Thursday, 9 to 5, in person at 1464 E. Whitestone Blvd., Suite 1901, in Cedar Park, or online anywhere in Texas. Fridays, 9 to 2, I’m online only.

When you’re ready, request a time, send the form, call or text me, or write. Whichever you pick, it’s me on the other end.
